Choosing CRCM was one of the best decisions of my life. Truly.
You’re reading this testimonial now because you realize you need help to care for your aged loved one(s). And, the situation probably seems scary and daunting. I know. I was in your shoes. Please, listen to what I have to say.
In February of 2019, I learned that my mother had suffered a debilitating stroke and was in the hospital. Living in Minnesota, I had to drop everything and quickly fly out to New Jersey to manage her care, as my father had Alzheimer’s disease, I have no brothers or sisters, and I had no relatives who lived close enough to Northern New Jersey to provide the oversight and care that my parents needed.
Once my mother returned home from the hospital, I was faced with the reality that neither or my parents could care for themselves or each other any longer, and I couldn’t leave them alone until I had made arrangements for others to do so. My parents are fiercely independent people and, for seven weeks, I tried and failed to convince them that unless they hired a geriatric care manager, I wouldn’t be able return to my wife and children in Minnesota. Finally, the combined encouragement of my relatives and my parents’ friends, along with my nagging, convinced them that this had to be done. Thankfully, my cousin had done some research and discovered that Connie Rosenberg & Associates Care Management, Inc. (CRCM) might be an excellent agency to which to turn.
Please understand that I’m as picky of a consumer as they come. I’m the type of person who won’t select a contractor, a doctor, or any third-party service provider unless I’ve done my research, read others’ reviews, and/or gotten some recommendations. So, I don’t dole out praise to such providers easily. But by April of 2019, I didn’t have the time to perform my usual due diligence and just had to take a leap of faith and select CRCM. This was one of the best decisions of my life. Truly.
For more than seventeen months since April of 2019, I’ve been able to live in Minnesota, secure in the knowledge that Laura Broemmer, Jacqui Ornstein, and everyone at CRCM is watching over my parents and making sure that they have the best care possible.
Laura is my parents’ primary care manager. Jacqui serves as their care manager when Laura isn’t available and, as a nurse, is able to maintain my parents’ extensive medication regimen.
These women are incredible. They set up all of my parents’ doctors’ appointments and take my parents to them. They also sit in on the appointments so that they can both update the doctors about any/all changes in their conditions and take notes of what the doctors say and relay them to me. And, because of their years of experience, as well as the agency’s network of connections, they’ve been able to recommend excellent new doctors, across a range of specialties, so that my parents are now receiving better and more convenient medical care than before my mother suffered her stroke. And, perhaps most notably, they’ve spent many hours, on more than a few occasions, taking my mother to the hospital’s emergency room – and staying with her so she wouldn’t be alone.
In addition to managing my parents’ medical and dental care, Laura and Jacqui have also assisted with other critical aspects of their daily lives. They’ve helped them obtain absentee ballots, sign up for Medicare, pick up needed medications from the pharmacy, and shop for groceries and supplies. Honestly, they’ve helped my parents in so many different ways that I can’t remember everything they’ve done.
But another reason you should hire CRCM is that its staff has the ability to connect you with the other professionals you’ll have to hire to assist you with the care of your loved one(s). In my case, they connected me with the agency that provides the wonderful caregivers who stay with, and take care of, my parents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in their home. CRCM also put me in contact with the most wonderful daily money management firm that helps my parents process their mail, pay their bills, sign important documents, and take care of any/all personal-finance paperwork that needs attention. I was also able to find, through CRCM, an excellent contractor to make adaptive modifications to my parents’ home. And, if the time comes that I need such a recommendation, I will definitely trust CRCM to help me find an assisted-living/memory care facility for my parents and help them with that difficult transition.
Also, please understand that all of the people at CRCM – Laura, Jacqui, Elyse, the other care managers with whom I’ve worked, and even the office manager – are extremely nice, very smart, caring people. They do a superb job of keeping me fully up-to-date via phone calls, text messages, and emails about all aspects of my parents’ care.
Perhaps the most amazing thing I can say is that everything I’ve described above has continued – without interruption – throughout the course of the COVID-19 Pandemic. And my parents remain safe and virus-free. If CRCM and its staff can maintain this level of care during this most difficult of circumstances, you know that nothing more really needs to be said.
You can trust CRCM. I do every day.
